Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba Becomes New President of Burkina Faso
Paul Henri Sandaogo Damiba, lieutenant colonel in the national armed forces of Burkina Faso, early in February 2022, became the new President of Burkina Faso after overthrowing the elected President Roch Kabore.

  1. Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba is also head of the state, President of the Patriotic Movement for Preservation and Restoration (Officially Junta), and supreme commander of the armed forces.
  2. On January 24, 2022 Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba along with the army, forced out the elected President, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, after people’s protest against his method of handling insurgents.
