झारखंड में गंगा लगभग 80 किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में बहती है. जिसमें साहिबगंज और राजमहल का क्षेत्र मुख्य रूप से कवर होता है .योजना के तहत यह प्रयास किया जा रहा है कि जिस तरह से नदी शहर के अंदर आ रही है उससे बेहतर होकर शहर से बाहर जाए .प्रारंभिक चरण में झारखंड के पांच शहरी निकाय क्षेत्र को चयनित किया गया है .जहां स्थित नदी का 8 महीने में बेहतर किया जाएगा. झारखंड में शहरी निकाय क्षेत्र को पहले चरण में चयनित किया गया है. उसका कायाकल्प किया जा रहा है. नदी के जलप्रवाह को बेहतर बनाने के लिए अवरुद्ध जल निकासी मार्ग की मरम्मत की जा रही है. नगर निगम के सहयोग से सीवरेज का प्रभावी उपचार किया जा रहा है. जिससे नदी में केवल साफ पानी छोड़ा जा सके. इससे नदियों का जल प्रदूषण नहीं होगा. नदी के आसपास के क्षेत्र में पेड़ पौधा लगाए जाएंगे और हरियाली बढ़ाने के लिए विशेष अभियान भी चलाया जाएगा. झारखंड की जलधारा को स्वच्छ सुंदर और जीवंत बनाने के लिए राज्य सरकार ने एक पहल भी शुरू किया है. केंद्र सरकार की प्रमुख योजना नमामि गंगे के अंतर्गत झारखंड की नदी का संरक्षण और पुनरुद्वार की योजना झारखंड के पांच शहर में बनाया जा रहा है. जिसमें रांची, जमशेदपुर, चास, देवघर और साहिबगंज में है. इस योजना का उद्देश्य नदी में हो रहे प्रदूषण को रोकना, जल गुणवत्ता में सुधार करना एवं नदी के किनारे पर स्वच्छ और हरियाली को बढ़ावा देना है. नमामि गंगे पहल नदी संरक्षण का राष्ट्रीय मिशन है, जो स्वच्छता, पानी की गुणवत्ता सुधार, जल निकासी, प्रदूषण नियंत्रण और नदी पारिस्थितिक स्थिति की तंत्र को बेहतर बनाने के लिए लागू किया गया है

In Jharkhand, the Ganga River flows for approximately 80 kilometers, mainly covering the Sahibganj and Rajmahal regions. Under this scheme, efforts are being made to ensure that the river leaves the city in a cleaner and better condition than when it enters it.
In the initial phase, five urban local body areas of Jharkhand have been selected, where the condition of the river will be improved within eight months. The selected urban areas are being rejuvenated. To improve the river’s water flow, blocked drainage routes are being repaired. With the cooperation of municipal corporations, effective sewage treatment is being carried out so that only clean water is discharged into the river. This will help prevent water pollution in rivers.
Trees and plants will be planted in the areas surrounding the river, and special campaigns will be conducted to increase greenery. To make Jharkhand’s water streams clean, beautiful, and vibrant, the state government has launched an initiative.
Under the central government’s flagship scheme “Namami Gange”, plans for the conservation and rejuvenation of rivers in Jharkhand are being implemented in five cities: Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Chas, Deoghar, and Sahibganj. The objective of this scheme is to prevent river pollution, improve water quality, and promote cleanliness and greenery along riverbanks.
