Currently, the distance from India to Russia’s St. Petersburg is about 16,060 kilometers, which takes nearly 40 days of travel. In comparison, the Chennai–Vladivostok Eastern Corridor will be only 10,000 kilometers long, and ships will be able to reach their destination in about 24 days.
Once this corridor becomes operational, trade in important sectors such as oil, gas, coal, machinery, and metals will increase rapidly, and India’s supply chain will become much stronger.
Work has also restarted on the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor, which will connect India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
